Laboratório de Arqueologia e Pré-história Evolutiva e Experimental (LAPEEX), coordenado pelo Professor Dr. João Carlos Moreno (Juca). O LAPEEX integra o Instituto de Ciências Humanas e da Informação (ICHI) da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG).

O LAPEEX realiza pesquisas arqueológicas focadas na Pré-História geral do Velho Mundo (especialmente sobre o período Paleolítico e os primeiros hominínios) e na História Pré-colonial das Américas, (especialmente nas primeiras ocupações do continente e nas ocupações costeiras); assim como possui linhas de pesquisas interdisciplinares em Evolução Biocultural Humana, Zooarqueologia, Tecnologia Lítica e Arqueologia Experimental. Além da pesquisa científica, o LAPEEX realiza projetos de ensino, extensão e divulgação científica da arqueologia.

The Laboratory for Evolutionary and Experimental Archaeology and Prehistory (LAPEEX) is coordinated by Professor Dr. João Carlos Moreno (Juca). LAPEEX is part of the Institute of Humanities and Information (ICHI) at the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG).

LAPEEX carries out archaeological research focused on the general prehistory of the Old World (especially on the Paleolithic period and the first hominins) and on the precolonial history of the Americas, (especially on the first occupations of the continent and the Atlantic coast); as well as having interdisciplinary research lines in Human Biocultural Evolution, Zooarchaeology, Lithic Technology and Experimental Archeology. In addition to scientific research, LAPEEX carries out educational, extension and scientific dissemination projects in archeology.
