CIANJUR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
Mercy Relief, Singapore's leading independent disaster relief agency, is responding to the Cianjur earthquake in West Java, Indonesia.
The epicentre of the earthquake was on land, about 10 km south-west of Cianjur Regency (West Java Province). USGS PAGER estimates that up to 242,000 people were exposed to very strong shaking and up to 978,000 people. The earthquake has so far claimed 271 lives and displaced 2.5 million families.
Mercy Relief will be collaborating with Asar Humanity on the implementation and coordination of the entire project. The team will distribute emergency relief assistance through provision of hot meals, water, hygiene kits, blankets and shelter tents to the worst affected and most vulnerable villages in Cianjur Regency, benefiting 2,527 families.
GIFT OF GIVING 2022
During this season of giving, we remember those in need; those struggling to get by daily, those afflicted by hardships resulting from disasters, those who have little. Those who are not reading this because they do not have the means to.
Mercy Relief's Gift of Giving is a virtual fundraising campaign inspired by the season of giving. The campaign explores the meaning of giving among our stakeholders and encourages the spirit of giving within the community.
