I’m part of the team rolling out a new fossil mapping platform, and I’d be grateful for your help.
Call for Beta Testers: FossilMap
We are inviting beta testers to help evaluate FossilMap, the UK’s fossil recording platform. Developed to support the accurate and consistent documentation of fossil discoveries, FossilMap enables users to record GPS location, photographs, and geological context in the field. The platform is intended to support both individual collectors and the wider fossil-recording community by improving the quality, completeness, and long-term value of recorded information.
FossilMap is free to use, works offline, and keeps records on the user’s device unless and until they choose to share them.
We welcome feedback from testers at all levels of experience, from those making occasional finds to those maintaining established collections. Your input will help us assess usability, identify improvements, and ensure the platform is ready for wider use.
If you are interested in taking part in the beta testing process, we would be pleased to hear from you after you have tried FossilMap.
Please visit fossilmap.uk.uk to try the platform and share your feedback
