CEN is a grassroots network equipping Christians to serve communities in crisis
ReadyUK trains and equips local organisations to respond to emergencies, large and small, including major incidents, working alongside government and emergency services. ReadyUK also collaborates with and trains other faith communities to provide timely, actionable information, standardised training and incident mitigation.
There are 4 types of training you can do:
The Christian Emergency Network (CEN) was formed after Sept 11, 2001, to equip and mobilise the local body of Christ to respond biblically in emergencies of all kinds to respond spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically before, during and after any crisis, whether man-made or natural.
ReadyUK has a licence agreement with the Christian Emergency Network (CEN) to provide their services and training in the UK. While ReadyUK has its own incident command structure and operational autonomy, CEN provides support, strategic global partnerships and governance to its international charity partners such as ReadyUK.
CEN runs a couple of groups within the network connecting people from the emergency response sector to meet together for prayer and networking.
This is a professional and sector group for Christian individuals involved in humanitarianism, disaster relief and major incidents, such as humanitarian aid, emergency response, medical aid and major incident chaplaincy. The Christian Emergency Network runs the group for networking, collaboration opportunities and prayer
We'd love to connect you with others in your industry, equip you to live and share Christ Jesus with them, and provide you with ongoing support throughout your working career.
This is a group for Christian organisations involved in the emergency services and other emergency response organisations, such as police, fire, ambulance, coastguard, and others, as well as chaplaincy. The Christian Emergency Network runs the group for networking, collaboration opportunities and prayer.
If you are an organisation involved in emergency services, rescue, or humanitarianism, please contact us to join the group.
If you are an individual, we'd love to connect you with the organisation for your sector, to equip you to live and share Christ Jesus with them, and provide you with ongoing support throughout your working career.
As a licensed chaplain, I am passionate about the work of chaplaincy and the role it plays in being Jesus in the community. Here are some links that will help you on your chaplaincy journey.
WCM UK is a national network of Christian workplace chaplains and others engaged in connecting faith, work and the economy.
Designed for those who wish to serve, or who are currently serving in a Christian pastoral or voluntary chaplaincy role, the course will enhance your knowledge, practical skills and understanding to prepare you to minister to people in the different challenging situations we face in life.
If you are looking at ordination, the OSL has different membership options.
They say "People join us for many reasons. They may be involved with ministry and seeking recognition with ordination. They may already be ordained but wish to also be part of our fellowship, with opportunities for training, retreats and connection. They may be lay persons, looking for opportunities to develop in ministry and service. Whatever the reason, we are glad to welcome you to the Order - and we don’t require you to leave your own church or denomination to do so. In fact, we encourage all members to remain in relationship and fellowship with their local church. "
These are resources that I personally think are useful if you are looking to start or further your journey with Jesus.
