His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa serves as National Security Advisor to His Majesty the King of Bahrain, Commander of the Royal Guard, and General Secretary of the Supreme Council for Defence. He is also the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth & Sports, and Chairman of Bapco Energies, where he leads the kingdom's transition toward sustainable energy. His additional roles include Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organization and membership on the Economic Development Board. He was educated at the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst, where he earned King Hussein's Medal for Outstanding Overseas Cadet, and later attended the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia. He commanded the first Royal Guard Task Force during the Saudi-led Operations Decisive Storm and Restoring Hope in 2015.

Beyond his official duties, His Highness is an accomplished athlete who competes in triathlons, equestrian endurance championships, and camel racing, winning first place at the FEI Endurance World Championship in 2022. His humanitarian work has spanned international relief efforts, including inaugurating the Bahrain School for Syrian refugees at Jordan's Al Zaatari Refugee Camp and funding vocational training centers and housing in the Philippines after a devastating typhoon. His honors include the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa Decoration, the Arab Giving Knight award, a Medal of Honour from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the ANOC Medal, and the Order of Ahmad Al Fateh.
