The witchy tradition of Christianity has been demonized by the priesthood. But when you actually study the Bible, you find that the prophets were all practitioners of what we now call witchcraft. Noah performed a reverse spell, Rachel stole her father's ritual items, Joseph was a diviner, Moses was a magician, Samuel was a clairvoyant, Saul visited a medium, Daniel was a dreamer, John the Baptist was a Nazarite, and Jesus was a healer and exorcist. The priests hated these prophets and so they demonized witchcraft. They did not want the competition to their spiritual control! Now, many of the prophets of the Bible also argued against the unjust economic system of slavery (which we still live in in today's capitalism). Amos, my favorite prophet, as well as Isaiah, Habakkuk, Ezekiel and others, critiqued this economic system for leaving people impoverished. Furthermore, the freeing of the slaves was the central message of the revolutionary Maccabees, Zealots, John the Baptist, Jesus of Nazareth, and the very first Christians.
